Like: I was particularly impressed at how quickly we went through the pickup process, especially given how huge the crowd was and how stressed the other customers looked. We used the self-checkout process at the SFO Alamo counter, and while the kiosk actually malfunctioned, this allowed a manager on duty to whisk us through the process in remarkably short time. We had no issues with the reservation, and we were even given a wide choice of cars to choose from in the parking deck, including even a pickup truck (despite that we'd reserved a compact car). The return process was equally smooth, efficient and utterly hassle-free.

Highly recommend Alamo! When you exit SFO airport, take the escalator on the left or right side and hop on the shuttle train directly to the rental counter, very convenient. We added $5 per day for roadside assistance. It was secured with a credit card, and in about 10 minutes, we went to the parking lot to get the car. The key was inside the car, just ensure you have your driver's license and contract ready, as you'll need it to leave. On the second day in San Francisco, our car window got smashed near the Palace of Fine Arts. We reported it to the police, then drove to Union Square to try to change the car, but we were told we had to go back to the airport. The car change process was quick and hassle-free, and it was free. We got a new car with only 2400 miles on it, which was even better than the one we had before. Great service! We returned the car at LAX, drove straight to the parking lot, and it took about 3 minutes to inspect. Then, a shuttle bus took us to our hotel. This rental company is awesome, and we will choose Alamo again in the future!

We booked a Jeep Grand Cherokee or similar model, but when we arrived, the staff said there were no Grand Cherokees available and gave us a Hyundai Santa Fe instead. However, we saw a Grand Cherokee parked at the exit. We specifically told customer service that we needed a car for Death Valley and Yosemite, but they didn't give us the Grand Cherokee and instead recommended an upgrade for an additional $30 per day, which we refused. On the way to Las Vegas, the weather was very hot, and the car's RPM would exceed 3000 every time we accelerated slightly, forcing us to stop frequently. Moreover, when climbing the eastern entrance of Yosemite, the car nearly didn't make it, with the RPM close to 4000, scaring us quite a bit. We've rented from NATIONAL and AVIS before; the cars were always in great condition and matched the models on the website. This time, the experience wasn't great, which might be a case of 'you get what you pay for'. Buying directly from the rental company's website is almost twice as expensive, so I accepted it. I won't choose ALAMO again.

I rented a car from Alamo at San Francisco Airport. It was a Dodge that had run 14,000 miles. On September 15th, the agent, who spoke broken Chinese, told me that if I paid an extra fee of a little over $3, I wouldn't need to fill the tank when returning the car. I believed him and signed. As a result, I was charged $51 when I returned the car on the 30th. Since it was just after 8 in the morning and the agents were probably not on duty yet, I didn't argue because I was in a hurry to catch my flight. Ten days after returning home, another $22.4 was deducted without any notification or reason. Always make sure to return the car with a full tank.

I was then directed to the parking lot where a staff member brought a similar type of car. The rental process was smooth. Later, in Los Angeles, I accidentally bumped the front bumper. When I exchanged the car, the staff noticed I had insurance, making the return process smooth. Therefore, having insurance is quite necessary. Additionally, if you're not far from the airport, they can arrange a driver to drop you off at your destination for free!

Overall it's quite good, with a competitive price. They didn't push any extra items when picking up the car. Since I was planning a road trip, I opted for roadside assistance at $5 per day, which is reasonable. Alamo is quite friendly about opting out of certain charges, like crossing the Golden Gate Bridge (north to south); if you pay online yourself, you can automatically opt-out of Alamo’s charges without contacting them. Picking up a car at San Francisco airport was quite intense, it felt like there were more people than cars, and you had to grab one as soon as it appeared.

This time we took an 11-day self-drive trip in the western U.S. and chose Alamo. The price was definitely the most affordable. Overall, the car was in good condition and we had no breakdowns! They will recommend some model upgrades and insurance services, but it is entirely up to you whether to choose them. Returning the car was also convenient and quick. Be prepared that the specified brand and model in the same category might not be available. We were lucky to get the Chrysler 200 we reserved, and it was the only one available. If it wasn't, we would have had to choose the Jetta (known as Sagitar in China). If you plan to upgrade the model on-site, it will definitely be more expensive than booking through QEEQ, so it's best to choose a satisfactory model group in advance. Compared to costs for accommodation and food, car rental in the U.S. is very cheap. Renting a bicycle in San Francisco costs $35 a day, without insurance and tax.

Especially the phone service desk, as they will provide a Chinese translator if your English isn't good, and they are very patient. However, I initially booked a full-to-full fuel policy, but they gave me a full-to-empty one. I didn't notice at first, so I ended up buying a full tank for over 50 dollars. Additionally, they charged me another 9 dollars at the return, without clear reason.

We picked up the car at San Francisco Airport. The staff handling the pick-up kept insisting that I buy full insurance, even though I already purchased an additional insurance from ZuZuChe. The rental came with plenty of insurance, but he said it wasn't enough. He asked which cities we were visiting, and when I mentioned Las Vegas, he charged an additional fee of around $2 per day, saying that if I didn't pay it now, I would have to pay it in Las Vegas. During our trip to and from Las Vegas, we didn't encounter any such charges, and my friends in the US hadn't heard of this either. Up to now, I have no idea what the extra charge was for. Returning the car in Los Angeles was fairly smooth. We rented a minivan, and the car condition was okay. However, it wasn't very clean inside when we picked it up, and only the USB port on the main dashboard worked, making it inconvenient to charge mobile WiFi or phones in the car.

The clerk forcibly insisted that we buy third-party insurance, claiming it was required by California law. I checked online and found no such law. The Asian clerk began to stall and refuse to complete the transaction. I mentioned that I had rented a car from this Alamo location five days ago with no such requirement, and the clerk became hesitant but still did not verify the law with a manager or provide us with any documentation. The whole incident was very unpleasant. I hope that in the future, Zuzuche improves their system to inform renters in advance about necessary insurance requirements at the rental location, preventing forced sales.

Picking up the car was very convenient. I reserved a Grand Cherokee, but international rentals are based on the car model, so unfortunately, I didn’t get it. I ended up with a Ford Edge, which was a pleasant surprise as it was a seven-seater. This gave us much more room for our two kids. We had the car for nineteen days, and due to a change in our schedule, we extended it by one day, which cost around fifty dollars. The switch was incredibly fast, taking only a minute. I was very impressed with the efficiency of the car rental process in the U.S.

First, the car pickup. Arriving at San Francisco airport at 9 PM, it was quite convenient to take the blue line AirTrain to the rental car center after getting our luggage. Possibly due to the late hour, there were only 2 staff members at the Alamo counter. Though there weren't many customers, they seemed a bit overwhelmed. We had booked a Jeep Grand Cherokee, but it's rare to get that specific car. The staff offered us a Hyundai Santa Fe (not many options in the same price range, and I'm not a fan of Korean cars). Seeing that I had a lot of luggage, they then suggested an upgrade to a Chevrolet Suburban (a massive SUV almost like a pickup truck; it seems rental car companies love recommending American cars, which are big and gas-guzzling and not very popular). I went to the parking lot to check it out. I thoroughly inspected the car and documents and found there was no registration document. The manager spent nearly half an hour trying to locate it with no success. By this time, it was almost 11 PM. The manager, seeing no other option, finally gave us an Infinity QX60. This car had a spacious trunk that fit my luggage, so I agreed to pay the extra $18 per day to upgrade. The whole process took about an hour. Since I had full insurance purchased through QEEQ, Alamo did not try to sell me any additional insurance.
Return: I returned the car at Los Angeles airport, where Alamo has a much larger facility and more vehicles compared to San Francisco. The return process was very straightforward and quick. Once you enter the Return car area, staff will direct you where to park, unload your luggage, and leave the keys on the dashboard. A staff member noted the mileage and did a quick inspection before giving me the final receipt. The whole return process took less than 3 minutes. We then took the Alamo shuttle directly to the airport terminals.

The car pick-up process was very smooth. From San Francisco airport, you can take the airport shuttle to the car rental building (most rental companies are there). I was fortunate to meet a gentleman from Hong Kong who speaks Mandarin. He recommended insurance, but I did not purchase it. The process was very efficient. I had reserved a Chrysler, but it was unavailable, so I chose a white Dodge from the lot with only 500 miles on it. It was very new. I quickly got used to driving it. The car's power was average, and I am not sure about the engine size, but the fuel consumption seemed high. Returning the car was even simpler and more straightforward. I will choose QEEQ again next time but will select a different model.

The environment wasn't very clean with some trash around. They required me to buy a full tank of fuel and suggested returning the car empty, claiming that gas prices in Los Angeles were much higher than in San Francisco. This arrangement seemed a bit deceitful. The price for a full tank was locked at $3.xx per gallon, which was higher than the average gas price in San Francisco, which is usually around $2.77 per gallon. Additionally, it’s hard to return a car completely empty; I still had nearly half a tank. Many gas stations in Los Angeles also have prices around $2.77 per gallon. So, returning the car with an empty tank is a rip-off. The rental company should have offered an option to return the car with a full tank, but the staff didn't give any choice and just completed the paperwork. Being new to the place, I had no option but to accept it.

The company is quite large, with branches in various regions. There are many vehicle options available. I initially wanted to rent a Grand Cherokee, but at the counter they said it was unavailable. They offered either a Santa Fe or a more expensive Ford Edge, which I did not agree to. However, when I went to the parking lot to pick up the car, I was pleasantly surprised with a 2017 high-end GMC. It had only run over 13,000 miles, essentially a new car. Midway, the car showed a need for an oil change. I contacted customer service, and they provided three options: continue driving if the car was in good condition, switch to another car, or find a repair shop for an oil change and then get reimbursed. Later, I went to the Salt Lake City branch to exchange for another car, but they only had a mini van. So, I opted to get an oil change at a repair shop, which cost over $50 with tax. The refund was processed smoothly when I returned the car. Overall, it was a pretty smooth experience.

At San Francisco International Airport, all the rental companies are in one area and connected by a tram, which is very convenient. They'll try to upsell you to a higher class vehicle (telling me there's a half-price upgrade promotion) and add insurance. Because of the language barrier, my contract included an extra insurance. I immediately questioned it, showed my QEEQ order, and told them 'zero, zero'. They said my insurance didn't cover emergency rescue, and I declined it. They later canceled it and told me 'don't worry'. Importantly, you don't need to print out the pickup form; just tell them the pickup confirmation number. Printing a document abroad can be troublesome and usually requires self-service credit card payments. I once spent $17 to print a pickup form, but it became invalid later due to rebooking! I hope QEEQ's customer service advises customers not to worry about printing.

When we picked up the car, the staff told us that the car we reserved wasn't available, and we needed to upgrade to another car. However, he didn't inform us that the upgrade was free. Alamo at San Francisco airport is a horrible company. My car window was smashed, and my driver's license and luggage were stolen. The police suggested I change cars for safety reasons. It was already 2:30 AM, and I had four elderly people with me. However, the stubborn Alamo manager insisted on seeing my driver's license to give me a replacement car, despite me explaining the situation and even getting help from customer service. They claimed it was company policy due to liability issues with the police. If I didn't have a driver's license, how did I rent the car in the first place? Even if I had my license initially, what would I do if it got lost? This is a terrible company. It's incredible to encounter such poor service in a foreign country at 2:30 AM, leaving my family stranded at the airport. Later, I am extremely grateful to the AVIS manager at San Francisco airport, who, without any original documents, allowed me to rent another car just by showing photos and explaining the situation. The African-American lady managing the vehicles at the San Francisco airport had a biased attitude. She smiled at white customers but gave me, an Asian girl, a very old car without Bluetooth support. Feeling cheated, I requested a change and was then given a 2018 GMC. Additionally, I was forced to buy personal insurance, which they claimed was required by California law.

They kept pushing upsells—insurance, car upgrades, fuel fees, etc. I was talked into buying additional insurance by the front desk, even though it was only around 100 dollars, it was quite annoying. I thought the insurance included in my order was comprehensive, but their 'full insurance' was actually just an extra coverage similar to full insurance in other rentals. In the end, Alamo added another super coverage. This was the third Alamo I encountered during my trip at San Francisco airport, the previous two didn't ask these questions. Overall, the worst experience of this trip!

Just like the guide suggested, we were advised to upgrade the vehicle. They said my husband is tall and should upgrade to a more spacious car. We insisted on not upgrading, then they said we didn't buy the roadside assistance insurance and would have to bear the costs if anything happened. I told them we did purchase the roadside assistance insurance and showed a passage from our insurance policy. She said she didn't understand why we would buy insurance in China for renting their car. We persisted in not buying their insurance. Later we found out our car was actually quite nice, a Nissan Versa with plenty of space. A nearby staff member, who was African American, even made fun of us, but I retorted in English, making her feel embarrassed.

Very satisfied with the car rental experience. The staff pointed to a row of cars and said I could choose any one. I picked a brand new Mitsubishi Outlander with only 800 miles on it. Amazingly, we fit all nine pieces of luggage inside. Great job!

Picking up and returning the car was very convenient. Car pickup was done through self-service under the guidance of staff, and I was free to choose additional options as needed, which was quick and easy. Returning the car in Los Angeles was also very convenient, as staff attended to us immediately upon parking. The staff checked the car and gave a slip, allowing us to leave right away. There was even a shuttle service to take us to the hotel or airport.
