Avoid Simba Rentals at all costs! The overall experience was extremely unsatisfactory and unreliable. I have considerable experience with overseas car rentals and self-driving trips, particularly from Sydney Airport, but this company's service was unparalleled—in the worst way possible—and broke every expectation I had. 1. Sydney Airport shuttle bus wait time exceeding 30 minutes Unlike major car rental companies that have depots close to Sydney Airport near King Park with shuttles running every few minutes, Simba's shuttle pickup point is on the other side of the airport and requires phone or online booking. Even after booking, the shuttle took over 30 minutes to arrive. Online bookings repeatedly malfunctioned, and the phone number provided was an automated service with no human interaction. During the 30-minute wait, no one proactively verified whether my booking was successful. I initially booked a 10:00 AM car pickup, arrived at the airport around 9:00 AM, and called to arrange the shuttle. However, the shuttle arrived only after a long delay (past my planned pickup time), and it was already 11:00 AM by the time I finally got my car. 2. Shuttle driver’s safety and service at Sydney Airport The shuttle driver demonstrated no initiative in assisting with luggage, even when noticing that elderly individuals and children were present. (At first, I didn’t care much, but seeing a young foreigner later actively help with luggage made the lack of service even more apparent.) Moreover, the driver abruptly accelerated and braked when my baby was not yet securely fastened in the car seat, causing my child to fall to the floor from the safety seat. 3. Overcharging at the rental office The rental office charged us for things beyond the agreed-upon fees, including additional toll charges, administrative fees, and a one-way rental fee—all of which were supposed to already be included in the prepaid order. When I raised concerns, the staff simply stated that I could contact the rental platform if I had a problem, but clarified that even if the platform reached out to them, they would still insist on these additional charges. Honestly, if the shuttle delay hadn’t caused such a significant impact on my travel schedule or if I had been traveling alone, I would have canceled the booking and opted for another rental company on the spot. I am usually pretty laid-back and not very particular about small issues, but the constant stream of problems was overwhelming in this case. The absurdity of the entire experience was truly beyond anything I have ever encountered. It really was a uniquely bad experience. Avoid this local company if you can! I generally have a good impression of Australia and its friendly, kind people, but this rental company was terrible and left me with a poor impression of their services.

The cars are relatively new, with mileage around 20,000 km. All models are white (no choice available). When picking up the car, I noticed many locals renting as well, and I've seen the cars frequently on city streets (their markings make them easy to identify). The price is quite affordable, but there are some restrictions: Key point 1: Driving is allowed only within NSW and not across states. Key point 2: There’s a mileage limit of 200 kilometers per day. They’ll check the mileage upon return and charge for any excess. A minor issue occurred—the front tire pressure was low on the second morning, but it was resolved at the car shop within 10 minutes.

The staff had a poor attitude and kept pushing insurance even though I told them I already purchased one. They tried to scare me by saying it wasn't the same and that if there were repairs, they could directly charge over $6000 from my card (though the actual authorization was only $1000, so I don't understand why they claimed over $6000). The vehicle they provided was bad; it lacked power and struggled on uphill roads. When I returned the car to the address listed on the order, the staff lazily told me to drive to another parking lot instead. Driving in the city center was challenging, and I was in a rush. When I finally got there, the entry required a password, but the password they gave was incorrect. I had to drive back to the original address listed on the order. It was an exhausting experience! I've self-driven in many countries before, but I've never encountered such an unreliable rental company. Avoid this company at all costs; it was a hard lesson learned!

The pick up and drop off process took 60-75 minutes from reaching the airport to departing with the car (and vice versa). Extremely slow due to the shuttle process (waited 30-45 minutes both ways). The counter staff is reasonably pleasant, but the shuttle service is quite poor. The ideal service would be to wait less than 10 minutes on each side and this is far from that!

This company is absolutely terrible! Be very cautious when choosing them! On the day we arrived, we landed in the afternoon and finished collecting our luggage by 4 PM. We called them to arrange a pickup, and they kept saying 'Got it, got it, we've sent the car.' In the end, we waited outside for almost two hours! Nobody came to pick us up, and I had to keep calling to hurry them up one by one! When we finally got the car, they told us we had been given a half tank of fuel and should return the car with the same amount. We didn't take photos because we’ve rented cars abroad many times and are accustomed to mutual agreements and trust between parties. In the end, this rental company charged me for fuel and a refueling service fee! I asked why, and they said I didn’t return the car with a full tank! Absolutely disgusting!

The KIA van we got was huge. Exactly enough space for 6 adults, 6 big suitcase and 4 carry-on sized bags. The car was clean on the outside, some dirt on the floor, which was difficult to remove as the car had no floor mats. We had to fill up the window flusher liquid, as it was totally empty upon pick up. The car performed great and was a breeze to drive long distance.

The car was very dirty, lots of scratches marks and bumps, there was a large hose bucket and wash gear in the boot of the car, it was well passed at service state and the fuel consumption probably because of this was very bad, We were misinformed as it said the pick up and drop off was at the airport when in actual fact being there was no courtesy bus we had to get a taxi and an Uber with a total cost of $75 all in all we may as well put that money together with the cost you charged and gone with a decent reputable company and picked it up at the airport

Dislike: That there were hidden costs. We rented 2 cars and on the site stated no other costs. Upon pickup we had to pay bonds of $200 each plus insurance which costs over $500NZD. They don't take cash either. Wish we knew prior so we could leave cash in accounts rather than having cashed out all our spending then having to call home to transfer etc... delayed process and not good start to trip. ALL costs including bond etc.. should be mentioned.

This place is not a professional car rental company, just a small repair shop. I waited quite a while to pick up the car, though the process was relatively smooth. They gave us the same car they picked us up with, which was very old. The pick-up was delayed by an hour beyond the scheduled time, and there was no compensation, plus the car wasn't cleaned. When returning the car, they surprisingly said there would be an extra charge for dropping it off at the domestic airport, which was never mentioned on the rental website or during pick-up. It felt like a scam.

After a 24 hr flight (arriving from France) it was difficult & confusing trying to telephone Aerodrive for a shuttle only to be told to take a taxi, pay the taxi by credit card and then be reimbursed. Yes, I was able to do all that because my first language is English, but even for me after a long tiring flight it wasn’t easy. Then the taxi couldn’t find the address 338 King st on his GPS!!! I was later told it was because Aerodrive hadn’t paid the bill to the shuttle operator that there were no shuttles. Really?!? I feel that there should be shuttles in place without having to telephone for a shuttle to arrive and also not have to then get a taxi. However, finally after arriving at Aerodrive the staff were very friendly & helpful and the car excellent.

For the same price, cars in Europe are in better condition. The water pump broke down once, and since it was in a remote location, the rental company had to contact a nearby repair shop, so it was fixed only after two days. Not bad overall, didn't really affect us much.

I rented a Toyota van but they gave me an SAIC Maxus van. I had to pay extra to upgrade to a Toyota van. The car arrived with many scratches, and I didn't take photos of all of them, just a few obvious ones. On the second night, the tire got a puncture and I had to deal with it myself. Late at night, there was no help available. Despite buying a lot of insurance, it was useless. They told me things that sounded reasonable but were very frustrating. The child seat they provided was not suitable, and they told me to just put up with it in a very unprofessional manner. I've rented cars many times during my 20-day trip in Australia, but this was the worst experience. They pre-authorized a $800 AUD deposit, saying they would deduct $500 AUD for insurance claims that wouldn't be refunded. I was rushing to catch a flight and accepted my bad luck, thinking $500 AUD would be a lesson learned. Today I see they deducted the entire $800 AUD. It's a scam.

We asked the staff what time they close the office as we might drop off the car when we get back from our trip within the day we rent the car. They told us that they will close at 9 pm, so we tried to get to the office before 9 pm. But when we arrive there around 8.30 pm, they already close the office no one is there. We try to contract them but no one pick up the phone, so we tried to called the main office and I already told them that there is no one in the office but they keep us waiting and call to the office that there is no one. The staff I talk to said we can just leave the car there, but how are we going to get back to the hotel. The staff inform us that we did not tell them that we will drop off the car today so they going home early, but the staff should let me know as well about the closing, that they might closing early if it’s not busy, they only say they close at 9 pm. However, someone from Right2drive came to us and offer us a ride to our hotel, we really thankful to them as it’s really dark to walk from the office to get to the bus stop and if we have to go back to our hotel by bus it will take us to wait for the bus 20min and the bus will 40 min to get to our hotel. In conclusion I’m very disappointed in renting the car with Tripz.

The pick up point at the airport is not easy to find for a visitor. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
