I booked a Mercedes V-Class MPV well in advance and even confirmed it before travel. But when I arrived to pick it up, I was told the car I reserved was not available. They told me the Mercedes I booked was not unlimited mileage, even though my reservation clearly stated it was. They replaced it with a Kia MPV and claimed they couldn't reach me, but they had the wrong phone number. The worst part is, they gave me a lower spec car at the same rental price. A Mercedes and a Kia at the same price? At the time of booking, the Mercedes was at least twice as expensive. I think any rental company that can't provide the reserved car is a scammer. When I rented a V-Class from Hertz in Cairns, they gave me a high-spec model at the same price! I would not recommend choosing Europcar in the future!
