Very good. The only issue was the long queue when picking up the car. I returned the car at 3 AM and surprisingly, there were two staff members available to collect the vehicle. Very nice. I returned the car two days earlier, and the charges were fair. I liked it. It was a super small car, but it accommodated three of us comfortably. The trunk fit two 28-inch suitcases.

I was told to complete pre pick up registration which would mean the car would be ready to pick which I did. When I arrived my name wasn’t on the board so I went to the Avis Preferred desk as detailed in my instructions from QEEQ but they knew nothing about me and directed me back to the terminal. By now a line had formed and I had to wait half an hour. Filling in the pre pick up details was a waste of time and then caused me a delay when collecting

We were given a Buick Encore which is much smaller than the RAV4 we booked. This meant we had to reconfigure the trunk to fit our luggage in. When we started the car a warning light came on - replace oil now. This happened each subsequent time we restarted the car. After investigation the engine oil was nearly exhausted and we spent $96 to replace it. Also the sound card didn't work. This meant no radio and also no sound when the trafficators were activated. The car clearly hadn't been inspected/serviced before we collected it. The process to communicate with Avis, in order to organise a refund of the $96 spent on replacing the engine oil, was difficult. Following return of the car we have now been promised a refund but have not yet received it. In summary not a happy experience and a poor advert for Avis In our opinion the car should not have been allocated to anyone until a full service had been undertaken. Communication with Avis is also difficult. They have an automated call handling system which takes you around in circles

I ended up not picking up the car. The AVIS counter staff had a very poor attitude. I will check immediately if the refund has been processed. In the end, there was no choice but to rent a car at a much higher price—double the cost—or take a taxi.

It was quite a horrible experience. I prepaid in full, but when I picked up the car, they told me that all the available cars in my selected category were electric. They mentioned that I would need to download an app to operate these cars, implying it would be very troublesome. I asked them to switch me to a gasoline car, and they only told me it would cost $140. The key point is, they didn't inform me it would be an additional charge. I didn't realize I was being misled until I saw the bill. Then, I had to ask the staff to cancel the vehicle upgrade. Moreover, I clearly told the staff that I had my own insurance and did not need to buy the rental company's insurance. However, they kept pushing it on me. After I explicitly refused, a $130 insurance fee inexplicably appeared on my rental agreement! I had to go back to the counter again to cancel it. Originally, the rental cost was supposed to be around $1000, but with these two hidden charges, I ended up spending an additional 2000 RMB. It's a total rip-off. If a customer isn’t fluent in English, they could easily be scammed.

Our overall review on the hire company during my stay was very good. I was dealt efficiently at the desk and returning the car was simple. Now I've returned to the UK my opinion has completely changed. At the desk I was asked if I required any further excess insurance but I told the agent that I already had that cover through a company in the UK. He seemed fine with that. At that point he asked me to sign the paperwork but unbeknown to me I was signing for the Excess Insurance which I had already told him was not required. At no point did he explain about the insurance so I'd been tricked into buying this cover. An obvious case of misselling but no doubt a good commission for him. The rental car fuel policy was full to full which is normal practice. He recommended that I pay for a full tank of fuel at approx $40 so that I could bring back the vehicle empty with no extra cost. That way when I came to fill up towards the end of the vacation it would be far cheaper than if I had to refill myself-another blatant lie as I filled up on a number of occasions in various parts of Florida and never cost me more than $30. Sounds like another little scam for the rental company. I wasn't of course aware of any of these issues until I returned to the UK. I'm now faced with a bill of $419.72 for Excess Insurance which I'm contesting. Unfortunately their malpractice has spoilt what was a wonderful vacation.

There were few reception staff, and additional charges were not disclosed beforehand. At Dollar, we requested a toll pass box but were charged $115 without prior notice. The first car they gave us had a hole in the front windshield, which was also not mentioned in advance. We had to drive back to the airport to exchange it, and they gave us a nice-looking blue car. However, possibly due to this, the rearview mirror cover was stolen. We reported it to the police, and it took an entire morning to sort it out. Fortunately, we had already purchased insurance.

I read the reviews, but did not experience any of the negative comments. There was no pressure to buy anything extra, but we did bring a letter from our own car insurance saying our coverage was good for their car as long as it was valued at $100,000 or less, which wasn't a problem. The cost was so much less than anywhere else, I was sure there would be an issue, but there were no problems. I will definitely use them again and would recommend this Orlando location to friends and family.

It was pouring rain, and we were expected to inspect the vehicle using an iPad in an uncovered lot. Additionally, they didn't have enough iPads for all customers so we had to wait. When I finally got an iPad, the vehicle keys they gave me didn't work with any van on the lot - they were a spare set of keys to a van already rented to someone else. NU found me another van but didn't update the rental policy with the new van information until I pointed it out to them. Pick up was a real mess and there were other customers who rented children's car seats but they were broken and not functional.

The online booking was easy. The shuttle from airport to car rental place was a very long wait! We saw many other shuttle companies multiple times before ours showed up- which was disappointing- the driver was super nice tho. When we got there the people at the desk wanted our insurance policy for 3rd party rentals- which I got the email saying that BUT what they didn’t say was for how much! Keywords: scam, thievery, crooks, avoid. This company has a couple different names - Nextcar and OneSwitch. There may have been a third but I can’t remember. They operate in bait and switch mode. You will pay a price upfront (using a service like kayak, extending to something else like Queeq.com) but that will change significantly upon arrival. No insurance is good enough. While standing there, waiting for an eternity, 2 people walked out the door infuriated with the price changes. I would have followed in their footsteps, had I not already been delayed nearly an hour waiting for their ridiculous shuttle to take me to the office from the airport. I was on a very strict time constraints and forced to stay with this service. My $89 rental became $277 with the additional insurance charges and being forced to rent their sunpass box at $11 a day, plus the tolls. If I chose to decline the Sunpass, I would have had to pay each individual toll plus a $25 fee for each one. The exterior is filthy, with trash cans overflowing, the lobby is fairly clean, but bathrooms are disgustingly dirty. I could go on forever about how unhappy I was with this company, but I will just summarize by saying AVOID!

They told me they don't open until 6am and my flight leaves at 730am, so it wouldn't work for us by returning the vehicle, but the most disappointing issue was the insurance. Horsepower Car Rental is a very small company. The Toyota had 68000+ miles on it. There were very vary many small dents and scratches on the vehicle. Take pictures and video of the car and spare tire, always. The car had a toll transponder in it. I was never told until I picked up the car that I would have to pay $7.95/day for this service. This option was not by choice; it was required. I have ALWAYS paid Florida tolls as I go. Not a choice with Horsepower. It is MANDATORY! I will NEVER rent a vehicle from Horsepower again and I do NOT recommend them.

We landed late in the evening. We didn't know that the rental place was off-site, and had to look back through email to find a telephone number for the shuttle. It was 45 minutes from phone call to pick up. Once back in the office, we were told we need to buy a toll pass with an up front charge and a daily rate. Our insurance wasn't one of the seven they accepted, so, guess what? Another charge to pay for their insurance. I'm doing the math during this whole sales pitch and realizing we're aren't saving anything, and we are renting from a place that's 10 minutes from the terminal. Oddly enough, the employee said, "If this is too much, we can just take you back to the airport." So, that's what we did. We rented from a national company, which ended up being about the same price, right there in the airport, and had no trouble. But, our vacation started with 2 hours down the drain just to end up with no car from Horspower (why'd you take the "e" out of that word, anyway?). I wasn't comfortable with the up front charges, and it made me afraid that we were in for a big surprise when we returned the car. I guess we'll never know.

It’s actually quite easy to avoid going on those roads. The service at the store was mediocre. For such a high price, the car provided was really just average. I don't want to rent from here again. On the way from Miami to Key West, the front left tire blew out, which was terrifying. I had to pay $56 for roadside assistance because I didn't choose the coverage. I was told I could change cars at Key West. When I got there, an uncooperative employee made things difficult, telling me to get the tire repaired instead of replacing it. After finding the repair place twice, they said the tire could be patched up and used again, despite my explanations that the left front tire was damaged from driving flat. The right front tire also had a bulge but they refused to change it. In frustration, I went directly to the store, where a nice lady helped me switch to another car. This was a small comfort, but the best part of my travel time had already been wasted. What a pity!
