You can walk to the counter of Thrifty - Melbourne Airport car rental.

The rental office is located on the ground level of the ParkRoyal Hotel, opposite Terminals T1, T2, and T3, behind the large Melbourne sign. If you arrive at Terminal T4, make your way outside to Terminal T3 to cross the road . Please proceed to the office to complete your rental contract.

Drop-off Instructions

When approaching the airport area, follow the road signs marked "Car Rental Returns." After passing through the center road traffic light, keep right and watch for overhead signs indicating "Car Rental Returns" at the entrance. Enter through the Car Rental Return car park entrance. Après un appel téléphonique, toujours pas de facture alors que des frais de 80 dollars ont été retirés. Après appel, ces frais sont dus à une restitution tardive lié à une tempête sur kangaroo island. Nous avons prévenu et on nous a dit qu'il n'y avait pas de souci , qu'is avaient l'habitude de ce type de situation. En finalité j'apprends en regardant mon compte qu'une journée supplémentaire a été facturée....

Thrifty were very busy and I had to wait about 30 minutes for the vehicle. They had upgraded me to a larger size. The vehicle had obviously been washed quickly but was presentable. Staff were friendly and advised me of the delay.

They blamed me for past car damage. When I rented the car, I pointed out the scratches, and the staff told me minor scratches didn't matter. In the end, they charged me 3300 AUD when I returned the car home. This company is a scam. I will never rent from them again. Their integrity is terrible.

Thrifty provided great service. The staff at the branch were enthusiastic, and after checking my driver's license and translation, the process was quick. After paying the rental fee and a 385 AUD pre-authorization on my credit card, I received the car keys. When inspecting the car, the staff noted some small scratches, which I appreciated. During the return process, the staff instructed me to drop the keys in a box without an immediate inspection, which made me a bit anxious. I took photos of the fuel gauge and the car's exterior, but there were no problems. Thrifty later confirmed via email that there were no damages. Overall, I was very satisfied with the services from both QEEQ and Thrifty, and I hope other travelers can have the same experience.

The promised GLE was replaced with a GLC, and they claimed both cars are in the same class. But in reality, the price difference is huge. Strongly recommend not to trust this car rental company. (There was no option for a GLC among the available models, so I chose a Mercedes-Benz C-Class wagon)

Waited for an hour and a half to get the car! They explained that it was due to the Chinese New Year, so there were more people, but the problem was that there were hardly any Chinese people in line, mostly foreigners. I booked a mid-size SUV, Mitsubishi Outlander, but ended up getting a Camry. Didn't want to wait any longer, so I took the Camry. Overall, I felt the efficiency was a bit low.

The car model I booked was unavailable, and I was given a very small car with a take-it-or-leave-it attitude.

Arrived at the store around 3 PM but didn't get the car until after 5 PM. The tiny store was in complete chaos. Despite having prepaid for the rental well in advance, there was no car available. After several phone calls, they finally found a car that had just been returned, but it needed to be cleaned first... I wasn't the only one; a group of people were all waiting for the staff to find cars on the spot, standing in the parking lot waiting for the staff to clean each car and drive them over from another location. An old man with an Australian accent kept saying: 'I've been to countless places and never seen such terrible service....'
