We had a fast pick up from the airport from a friendly driver. Vehicle was bigger than expected. We were an hour later than we had originally said but they waived the late return fee. Overall a really good experience.

One staff member managing the complete business. Plan for at least an hour for the drop because the same person maybe out for pickup that time. I had to wait very long during drop off.
Also make sure each and every mark/scratch is captured. Overall not recommended

The pick up location was not clear in the instruction email. A picture of the location or map of how to get there would be perfect as Auckland is a small airport it had two pick up zones for taxi vans and regular pick up.
The customer service rep didn't speak fluent english but luckily for us we spoke Chinese, so we got a long just fine.
Yes Rentals is located approx. 10 min drive from the airport. It is time consuming if you're in a tight schedule, 10-15 mins pick up time, 5-10 min admin work, then dropping the vehicle off and travelling back to the airport again.
However, if you're not a hurry and you're looking for cheap rental prices then I highly recommend Yes Rentals.

received for what i booked, happy. the first calls for pick up, those two phone numbers weren't working, thought the rental company not exist and got stranded at the airport. looked through the whole voucher and found 0800 number, but was Park&Fly answered. then tried call one of the numbers again, eventually someone answered. spent a bit time just for pick up, at drop off was quick. counter staff was helpful, but she charged $300 bond not freeze (on provided credit card), even i purchased extra cover ($0 excess) through YES rental, not very happy about that, they still keep the bond for two weeks after i have returned the rental car. this kind of procedure should be changed. have been hiring with many other rental companies they didn't do any bond, as i don't like the 'bond' idea so always get the $0 excess option.

The car was older than we expected, and the GPS did not have english capability; it was all in Japanese, and those who worked at the car rental agency couldn't fix it or swap to another car that had an english GPS. Brakes were also not very strong.

Rental pick up afterhours is through 3rd party and we waited for almost an hour. Tried phoning different numbers and asking other shuttles for help but nobody was aware of shuttle services for car company.
The shuttle driver finally answered phone half asleep and grumpy.

Vehicle was well used and worn inside and outdated. Had 153,000+ km. Was rough to drive as it was older and had issues with a seatbelt not working and a headlight out at night. Very dangerous.

On the second day of renting a car in Auckland, I accidentally damaged the side mirror. Despite having purchased insurance beforehand, the rental company still required a deposit of 8900 NZD. The mirror was fixed on the same day, and I continued driving, but I only received the repair bill a month later (just replacing a side mirror cost more than 1760 NZD). It's been two months since I returned the car, and the rental company still hasn't refunded the remaining 4060 NZD, citing possible third-party claims. In fact, I barely scratched the other party's mirror with no visible damage, and the other party politely said it was fine without requesting any repairs. The rental company’s refusal to refund the deposit is infuriating, and they have recently ignored my attempts to contact them. The rental company is run by Chinese people, so communication is easier, but the service is a nightmare.

The rental company is very reliable. They contacted us three days in advance to discuss all the details. Picking up the car was very convenient, with their location just a 5-minute drive from the airport. They provided shuttle service throughout the entire process, with VIP treatment! The staff member who handed over the car was very friendly and gave us lots of tips on traffic rules and food and entertainment recommendations along the way. Very thoughtful! Terrible car rental experience. For some unknown reason, the rental staff (Joe) picked us up with a sullen face, without greeting or smiling, which isn't a big deal since some people just aren't friendly or chatty, and I don't mind. However, on the way to pick up the car, we smiled and asked if there were any tips or things to note for first-time right-hand drive drivers. He bluntly said, 'No, just follow the traffic rules, nothing else to say.' He was completely indifferent. We had reserved a specific model (2009-2011 7-seater Alphard), but he picked us up with an older 8-seater Alphard, not our reserved model. I pointed out that we reserved a 7-seater, not this older 8-seater model, and he tried to deceive us by saying, 'This is an upgrade (7-seater to 8-seater).' When booking, the system showed an 8-seater, but it was cheaper than the 7-seater, so I chose the newer 7-seater. He insisted that was all they had. But the key point is: upon arrival at the car rental place, we saw the car we reserved. I asked why we couldn't have it, and he replied, 'That car's not available, you can only have this one. If you don't want it, we'll refund your money.' It was infuriating. We had a confirmed booking, but they wouldn't give us the reserved car. They said they'd refund the booking, forcing us to book again ourselves. It's ridiculous, taking advantage of us being new to the area, typical of fellow countrymen exploiting their own. We chose this rental company thinking it would be easier to communicate in a foreign country, but were mistreated from the start. It was impossible to find an alternative immediately, as we had just landed. When I said I'd call the booking platform, he said go ahead, he didn't care and offered to refund the booking. A call from what seemed his partner prompted him to give us the car we reserved. Though we finally got the right car, the process was extremely unpleasant, wasting almost an hour for them to refuel and let us return the old car. Strongly advise against renting from this company. Trusting the many positive reviews turned out to be a mistake. We had elderly and children with us, needing hot water for the child, which he didn't provide. Analyzing later, I realized they could rent the car at a higher rate during the peak season if I canceled. Understanding the desire to profit, but deceitful practices and rude behavior are unacceptable. We don’t expect extraordinary help, just to avoid being cheated. Business shouldn't come at the cost of losing one's conscience!

I strongly recommend against renting from them. I trusted them due to the positive reviews but had a terrible experience. With elderly parents and kids in tow, and when asked for hot water, they said no. In hindsight, I booked half a year in advance at a low rate. During the bustling New Year's season, they could rent out the car at a high price if I canceled. They could rent out the reserved model at an even higher price. I understand making a profit, but cheating customers and conducting business in such a rude manner is unacceptable. It's about making money, not at the expense of integrity. We don't expect you to go the extra mile in a foreign land, but at least don't take advantage financially!
