CAR RENTAL REVIEWS ON THRIFTY AT LOS ANGELES AIRPORT, LAX

I arrived at Thrifty around 9pm on Friday and didn't receive my vehicle until after 2 am Saturday morning. I had booked a pickup due to all the large luggage we would be returning with but received a Ford Explorer instead. I will have to return to California to pickup more luggage we had to leave behind as a result of not getting the pickup we had booked. The staff did not provide any details on why it took so long other than to tell us they were operating with a skeleton crew. On a busy Friday night??!! Further when we called to ask if we could swap out the Ford Explorer we were told there was one in Santa Barbara, 60 miles from our location but as it turned out, that Thrifty location no longer existed.

All was clear and smooth. The added insurance package was better the counter through Thrifty than the one on line AXA

The queue was too long. Other rental companies had no customers, but there was still a long line here, and it was very slow.

Pick up was horrible with a 1.5 hour wait. Drop off was just the opposite with nearly no wait, including the convenient shuttle bus.

First, they insisted I buy insurance, but my order indicated I didn’t need it, which annoyed the staff. I declined the refuel option and they refused to give me a receipt, saying it was fine. In the end, I returned the car with a full tank, and they still charged me $52 for FPO. That's outrageous!

The car was not ready when we arrived and we had to wait about half an hour, this is not good with a timed booking pick up.

Took forever to get my car at LAX. Had to change vehicles a few days into the rental, at which point LAX changed my return time in SF. But when I arrived on schedule to drop off in downtown SF, the office was closed. Apparently LAX didnt know the closing time in SF. Had to go back to SF office 7am the next morning, but Thrifty charged me an extra day and a late fee - $91.33. I followed their instructions and they charge ME money for a THIRFTY MISTAKE. I am still trying to get my refund. Will never use Thrifty again.

Me cobraron muchos cargos extras cuando me entregaron el coche. La verdad solamente porque ya era tarde y no quería perder más tiempo. Pero si no la verdad NO LO HUBIERA RENTADO.

The waiting time was very long, and I was double-charged despite having already paid a partial fee on the rental platform.

Very good overall, smooth experience. They only tried to upsell the highway ETC, which I didn't rent. However, there were few staff members so I queued for over half an hour. Americans work quite slowly.

Overall satisfied, but there are still some upselling attempts.
