I am writing this review after 3 years, and the memories are still quite clear. That's probably the charm of self-driving. The car was picked up in Antalya at the Avis counter, which is very easy to find in the hall. It took about 20 minutes in line, not too crowded.
I returned the car today and realized I left 100 euros in the car. I called the rental company, but they said they didn’t find anything. Ridiculous, I know exactly where I put the money. Later, they stopped answering my calls. Clearly, something suspicious is going on; someone from the rental company must have taken it. It's my fault for being careless. I will never rent from this company again. Returning the car was incredibly difficult to find, and the service is terrible. I went around the airport three times and almost cried.
The staff for handling the paperwork, picking up, and returning the car were quite nice. However, the phone number for returning the car in Izmir was a Turkish automated message.
We selected a Fiat but received an old model Renault. The service staff informed us that the class was the same, but it clearly felt much older. At least it was a sedan, however, we found that one of the low beam headlights wasn't working, making driving at night very unsafe.
The rental office at Antalya airport is easy to find, and the pickup location is not far. When picking up the car, make sure to carefully inspect for scratches and take photos. This is very important because if you don't have pictures of existing damage, it could cause trouble when returning the car.
Firstly, the work efficiency: communication at the car pickup was fine as the staff spoke good English, but it took about 30 minutes to be told to go to the parking lot where a staff member would be waiting. However, no one was there, and we waited another 10 minutes before a staff member slowly walked over, impatiently checked our documents, and then made us wait another 10 minutes for the car to arrive. The entire process took over an hour. Maybe others had faster service, but I had bad luck with highly inefficient staff. As for returning the car, I did so at an airport branch in a different city. The night before, the hotel front desk kindly informed me that a gate pass is required to enter the parking lot and should be provided at the pickup. We didn't have it, so I contacted the rental car customer service to inquire about gaining entry. They assured me that showing the rental agreement would suffice. However, upon arrival at the airport on the day of departure, I was denied entry without the card. I had no choice but to run several hundred meters to the return point to inform the staff and tell them I had a flight to catch, hoping for quick assistance. The staff was extremely cold and took their time giving me a card, which turned out to be expired. Fortunately, a kind driver used his card to let me in. By this time, I had less than 50 minutes until my flight. The return area was crowded, and despite my urgent pleas through the window, the staff remained indifferent and made me wait. Eventually, I had to drag a staff member busy with his phone to help me, who then lazily checked the car for another 10 minutes. The overall attitude was cold and seemed like they enjoyed seeing me stressed. Very unfriendly! I don’t know if this is common everywhere or just here. What should have been a perfect trip turned sour because of the lousy service at this branch, almost ruining my schedule! I’m too exhausted to complain about the rental car customer service’s wrong information and the general coldness and unfriendliness at Izmir Airport.
The staff were very patient and friendly. When we returned the car, the drop-off location was already closed, but they waited an extra 15 minutes for us after a phone call.

About AVIS:4.0/10
Quick pickup process, offered insurance but didn't buy it, staff continued with the procedure swiftly. Since it was New Year's Day, possibly off-season, got an upgrade to a Mercedes. The car was very new. The only downside is that half of the deposit was refunded to my credit card upon return, and after more than two months, the rest of the deposit hasn't been refunded, and post-sale service has been ineffective.
