Why aren't there any reviews about whether this rental company is reliable? It's just garbage, the worst of the worst. I sincerely advise everyone never to use this company again. They are shameless, despicable, and have no integrity. I strongly suspect that they forged my signature. There were a lot of additional charges for insurance and fuel that I didn't notice on the first page when I signed. The final bill was several times more than the rental cost. It's unbelievable.
“An excellent experience and will be using them again.”
About Keddy by Europcar:10.0/10
I was so impressed by Rodney who assisted at Europcar. He was polite, friendly and went above and beyond. I was very happy with the upgrade he gave and made my day. Rodney is by far a credit to Europcar and will certainly be using them in the future. Nothing is too much trouble for him, thank you!
Service efficiency is average. Returning the car in the afternoon needs improvement. The car key should be placed in a prominent location at the rental company, not handed over to airport security. After working hours, it was difficult to find the security personnel. I had to ask several people and wait a long time to find where the key was left.
They didn't have any SUVs in, so had to make do with what they did have (a skoda!). Was offered a number of upgrades for a cost, which I thought awfully kind of them. They seemed genuinely surprised when I suggested that I should be getting a free upgrade given that they didn't have the car I booked available.
Take long time to pickup cars because the service personnel persuade to upgrade and cross sell insurance. The car also have few scratches on bumper and fenders during my pickup.
Since it was provided by Europcar, the service was excellent and there was no forced insurance upselling! However, because it was a Keddy order, the deposit was too high! The deposit for a Ford Focus was 1100 dollars!
“Unprofessional customer service from Europcar staff member Mihai”
About Keddy by Europcar:7.0/10
Customer service was very poor on collection. Car availability was very poor so was made to wait instead of being provided with a free available upgrade.
I saw many online reviews mentioning people getting ripped off, but I didn't believe it. Unfortunately, I fell into the same trap with a forced vehicle upgrade! The sales staff at the store were terrible! They indirectly forced me to upgrade the vehicle and verbally assured me there would be no extra charge! However, when signing, the additional upgrade fee was included! Scammers! For a 13-day rental, I initially paid almost 5000 RMB, but with the upgrade, they charged an additional 7500 RMB, averaging over 900 RMB per day! At this rate, I could have rented a Range Rover! Disgusting!
I booked Passat or similar and Europcar was trying to give me a compact car (Volvo V40), claiming that they don't have anything bigger. After my complains, they offered me Peugeot 3008, which was still way smaller than Passat, but we fit our luggage there (carrying one of the bags on the back seat).
I hate when companies offer something which they cannot provide. I booked my trip ~1 month in advance, so they had enough time to prepare themselves.
On a good side: the car I got was almost brand new - just 300 miles on its meter and it was very well equipped.
Like: The team of Europcar goes that extra mile to keep the customer satisfied at all times Dislike: Spent too much time on getting the vehicle, need more customer service people during peak hours
The rental company strongly pushed other premium models and insurance. I mentioned I already had insurance and would not purchase more. After I declined, they switched the Mercedes to an Audi and claimed that without upgrading there would be no navigation (although the Audi did have navigation). I had seen the Mercedes model when I arrived, but the company insisted it was unavailable. The service experience was not good. Fortunately, the Audi A5 was in good condition, so I didn't pursue the matter further.
