The service was decent, but the car was too old and lacked power. However, it was very fuel-efficient. Various warning lights kept flashing during the trip, and it was impossible to reach the rental company after their closing hours. QEEQ provided great service and quickly helped us get in touch. The rental company responded saying there's no issue and not to worry about the warning lights; just keep driving as usual. Anyway, we managed to drive for three days, covering nearly 1000 kilometers, and refueled twice, costing about 200 dollars.
Our self-driving trip in Egypt left me with a strong impression of the rented car, though not in a positive way. Right after picking up the car, I noticed the poor condition—it lacked a handbrake, which caused significant unease during driving. Additionally, the right headlight on the left side of the car was completely broken and unusable. When I pointed out the issue to the rental office during pickup, they shockingly claimed it wasn't a problem and the car was fine to drive, leaving me feeling rather helpless.
As we drove, there were even more issues. The engine's oil light came on, and upon checking, the oil level was critically low. Fortunately, we found a nearby gas station where I could purchase some, though it cost me 900 Egyptian pounds to resolve the issue. While the rental office reimbursed this expense when we returned the car, it was evident they had seriously neglected maintaining the vehicle before renting it out.
On the bright side, the car's performance and power were relatively decent during our 3000-kilometer journey. However, all these minor problems made the trip much more stressful than necessary. Driving in Egypt’s cities, especially in places like Cairo and Alexandria, requires a great deal of courage and composure. The added issues with the car only increased the pressure. I sincerely hope the rental company takes vehicle maintenance more seriously in the future to provide more reliable cars for other customers.
The car was adequate had some bumps and scraps on the back fender, no cruise control on the model I pick up, how the hybrid was good on fuel for the expense fuel prices in NZ
The vehicle provided was a RAV4, but it was a model from 20 years ago and very worn-out. The car's engine became very loud when driving at 70 km/h. This car rental company was really unsatisfactory.

There was a bit of a wait to pick up the car. Two staff were serving. They did make us wait outside the portacabin whilst they dealt with other customers - and it was actually cold that day! However, once we were served it went smoothly - no hidden charges or attempted "upselling" so this was much appreciated. The return was done quickly an efficiently.
The staff claimed they recorded a video of the car windows and took photos, but when switching the car, they required us to provide evidence of existing scratches on the vehicle. Make sure to take comprehensive photos of the entire car, including the undercarriage and windows. Since we picked up the car at night, our photos of the windows weren't clear, and they pointed out a small white spot on the glass. Please thoroughly record videos and take multiple clear photos as evidence.
The vehicle was outdated, and I had to wait a very long time, at least 20 minutes, to pick up the car. Make sure to take a detailed video during pick-up. It's recommended to wash the car before returning.
Average, they required a €1600 pre-authorization, which is outrageous. Ended up with a Peugeot 3008, the car was rather old with over 50,000 kilometers on it, and it lacked a rearview camera and Bluetooth.
“Mine was ok but worried about the overall experience for other client”
About Autounion:6.0/10
The car was fine , not pristine but I was happy with that
Thehand over was very rushed as staff wanted to leave for night . A few things were slightly tricky , no manual provided couldn't get bonnet to open to refil washer fluid
Had trouble finding fuel cap cover lever first time
Was a bit concerned as a solo female dropped her car off just before closing and a large family with young kids also and were told no shuttle available and they were closed. Foreign travellers and left high and dry with no ability or numbers to call for taxi etc and staff not interested to help.
I also had trouble with pick up from airport as my flight in was a little late but luckily they did or I would have been scuppered. Im senior and NOT a techy person and had only data on my phone !!!.
The shuttle driver was very helpful for me nut not for the other customers. I felt really sorry for them as the actual place is quite far from airport , on an Industrial estate and relatively isolated from public routes etc
“Wouldn’t use them again, cars are crappy, forced into extras.”
About Autounion:4.0/10
The booking was convoluted, and set up in such as way to provide conflicting information. I had to spend an extra $100 on the car hire that I shouldn’t have if the advertised policy was followed.
