When I picked up the car, the staff directly asked me how many people and how many pieces of luggage I had. Knowing their routine, I asked if these questions were because of insurance. He confirmed, saying they were trying to sell insurance. Since I had already opted for full insurance from Zuzuche and had encountered similar tactics before, I refused. Subsequently, they assigned me a car in poor condition—the steering wheel was shaking. When I returned the car, staff even asked if I was returning it or exchanging it.
The worst car condition I've encountered from Avis in all these years! I got a Kia K5 with 30,000 miles, which is quite high for a rental car. The space was fine, but the car's condition was terrible. The air conditioning made annoying noises, and the right rear door couldn't be opened from the inside (discovered this after I left, didn't feel like going back to the company). The worst part! The right rear tire had a slow leak, losing 0.2 psi daily. I couldn't find any nails or defects upon close inspection, but the tire treads were almost gone. No idea why Avis didn't check this properly. I had to keep inflating the tire at gas stations for a few days. Finally, driving a Kia feels really bad, although it is fuel-efficient.
I bought basic third-party insurance on Zuzuche, which might not be high enough. The agent insisted that I buy additional third-party insurance, claiming it was mandatory. He should have been able to see what insurance I bought on Zuzuche. This Mazda 6 shakes a lot.
We chose AVIS because the rental point is right inside the airport, and it is not a big company. Big companies often tend to neglect customer service. A friend arrived a day earlier, so we added one more day to our rental. The whole process was very quick without any aggressive insurance sales. We were given a NISSAN, which was in the same category we booked but had more space and better fuel efficiency. The car had quite a few old scratches, and my friend, who didn't have car rental experience, didn't take photos or videos when picking up the car, which made me quite worried. But it turned out I was overthinking. When returning the car, the staff only checked the fuel level and didn't try to blame us for the old scratches. Another strong recommendation is that the price we got from QEEQ was cheaper than other English rental websites or the company’s own site!
