Budget rented us a car with 3/8 tank of gas. We ask that be noted and they did. When we returned the car had over a half tank. They charged us for refueling and the gas itself over $120. We are of course disputing that overcharge with them.

I rented a Ford Escape. The counter staff suggested that they would try to see if they could upgrade our car for free. They helped us upgrade to a Toyota 4Runner which was great. The staff claimed it would be free. But I was charged the upgrade free in the end which I overlooked in the small print and signed for.

Rented a Camry but wanted an AWD and had to pay 140USD for the 7 day rental to upgrade to a larger Mazda CX-90 SUV. To my horror on the 4 day of use the car was unable to open and it took us almost an hour before we could reach the budget service line. In the end budget arranged a mechanic which took 1.5 hours to arrive and we had to rush to the Sea-Tec for my wife's flight via uber. Budget arranged another replacement car at Sea-Tec but it was 100% confusion. The replacement car was not available, and was given a chevrolet sedan which I disagreed given the higher price I paid for the SUV. Took me another 45 min to find a replacement car which was a RAV4. The car had its maintenance light signal on the moment I entered the car but I had no choice little did I regret picking up this car which had wiper issues when I was driving down Whistler mountain on a rainy day. It was extremely dangerous for my entire family who were in the car who feared for their lives the entire journey. I am requesting a full investigation on the poor, unsafe cars on Budget!!!!

When we arrived at the store, there were no cars available in the group we had booked. Without asking, they upgraded us to a different model that was in a higher category, and the price doubled. After negotiating, they finally compromised, and we had to choose a model that cost twice as much. They said it was the cheapest model they had available, and there were no other options. Our original estimated cost was $300, but it ended up being over $540. If we hadn't negotiated, the quote they initially gave us was $750, which was really frustrating.

There were many people when picking up the car, but returning was quick (possibly because I had full insurance). The free shuttle was convenient, the return location was near a gas station, and the car was in good condition.

Everything else was excellent, the only issue was because it was raining. The store manager suggested we upgrade the car from the convertible we initially booked to a Jeep SUV. However, when we got to the parking lot, we saw the Jeep was also a soft-top and quite small. We went back to the store to request a change. Since the pre-authorization was already done, the manager tried to say there weren't any cars like the one we originally booked and suggested another upgrade. I mentioned I saw plenty of the original cars in the parking lot, but he insisted they were all reserved. Finally, I said if we didn't get the car we originally booked, we wouldn't rent from them. Only then, reluctantly, did he agree to give us the car we originally booked. Despite this, everything else was great; the rental point is conveniently located from the airport, return was quick, and the car was in good condition. However, it seems rental companies tend to mislead Chinese customers into upgrading. Hopefully, this can be improved in the future.

They did not provide the reserved vehicle and took advantage of our lack of English skills to overcharge us. Even though we refueled the car and confirmed it with the inspection agent, we were still charged an extra $20 for supposedly not refueling it. After complaining to the manager, the receipt was corrected. The manager said we would be refunded, but since it was a credit card authorization, we have to wait for the billing cycle to know if we were really refunded.

I had pre-booked a full-size car, but there were none available when I arrived. They even asked if I wanted a 2-door car. After waiting for over 20 minutes, I was given a bright red car. Two grown men driving a bright red car for a business trip, we were too embarrassed to park it in front of the company. I will definitely not use Budget again.

At the BUDGET counter at Seattle International Airport, I booked a Ford Expedition, but they didn't have the car. A female staff member at the counter asked us to wait, saying she needed to consult the manager for a replacement. We waited for 45 minutes. When we finally got to the parking lot, the car she gave us couldn't fit our luggage. I specifically booked the largest car, and she seemed unsure if the car would fit both us and our luggage. She didn't even offer a discount for giving us a smaller car. Luckily, the parking lot staff were kind and helped us pick a Toyota Sienna. Although the Sienna's performance doesn't match the Ford, it was a hassle to finally get a car at noon after arriving at 9 AM.

I returned the car with a full tank, but they claimed it was not full and charged me for 1.8 gallons (about 6.8 liters). They said the tank was 15.5 gallons when I picked up the car and 13.7 gallons when I returned it. Whether the rental company has the ability and time to accurately measure the fuel level is questionable. Even after the fuel nozzle clicks, you can still add a few more liters. They charged $9.9 per liter plus an 11.11% service fee. Extremely dissatisfied.

Budget staff at Seattle airport uses some manipulative tactics. First, they ask about the number of people and luggage, then tell you that the car you booked is not available and suggest you upgrade for double the price. After refusing, the staff claim the price includes full insurance and advise you to sign electronically to save time. If you trust them, you may fall for it, as I discovered the next day that they had added duplicate insurance, which cost almost as much as the car rental.

The Asian-looking male receptionist tried to add over a hundred dollars of unnecessary insurance without explanation and asked me to click 'agree.' Luckily, I noticed this by following the guidelines from the car rental website. When I asked him to change it, he added another $60 or so for GPS without any explanation again. I had to emphasize that I had already purchased and prepaid for everything I needed before he finally corrected it to zero. This is a typical case of taking advantage of Chinese customers. You can upsell, but you must explain it—this is deceptive.

When we arrived, Budget was already closed, and Avis handled the car pickup. I booked a car, but the only options available were a truck and a van. The two of us ended up using a huge van, which we drove around the city for two days. We didn't cover much distance, but refueling cost us 63 dollars.
