Driver's License in Philippines
The
If your domestic driver's license is not in English (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic etc), an International Driving Permit (IDP/IDL) or an official translation in English is required together with your driver's license you drive in the Philippines.
Drivers holding a valid driver's license of the 10 ASEAN member countries can use their national driver's license in the nine other countries without the need to obtain an IDP. These countries are Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines.

The staff was extremely helpful and nice, but they charged us a 190 Pesos cleaning fee (they wanted to charge 300, but since I had taken the vehicle to a car wash and objected, they reduced it to 190). Since they insisted to pay in cash and did not issue me any receipt, I doubt this fee is not legitimate. Moreover, it is not specified in the rental agreement

Our flight was delayed, but there was a guy at the exit waiting for us. When returning the car, I arrived early and had to wait 40 minutes because they weren't open yet, but they still came before my scheduled time. Overall, I was quite satisfied with the service.

I am extremely satisfied. Communication was smooth and they were very friendly. After picking up the car, they even used WhatsApp to inform me how to reach them if needed. The car was new, fuel-efficient, with only 3000 km on it. It was very easy to drive and greatly enhanced my travel experience.

Terrible car rental company, I've never seen a Europecar branch this run-down... The staff were irresponsible during pickup and tried to overcharge us during drop-off, making us wait for over half an hour... Absolutely horrible!!!

This was our first time renting a car and we were trapped. We didn't know we needed to buy full coverage insurance. We thought the included insurance was enough. In the end, we were charged 2000 for a scratch. They wouldn't even let us fix it ourselves, they just wanted the money.

Waited for an hour for the car to arrive. When it did, they picked me up but took me to the wrong hotel. It took 2-3 hours in total to get the car. They charged me 10,000 pesos without pre-authorization, not sure why.

Bonne explications et changement de véhicule au dernier moment en raison du numéro de plaque et des jours d'interdiction de circuler sur Manille. Voiture propre et confortable. Inconvenient de devoir payer le dépôt de garantie en espèce (350€) car la recharge de la carte bleue est annoncée comme nécessitant un mois. !!!!!!! Attention prévoir des espèces !!!!!!!!

No one picked up upon arrival, and they didn't answer the phone either. I was left waiting by the roadside for an hour. Even worse, when I reached the counter, they said there was no order, which delayed my trip and took a long time!! Poor service!

The car was in excellent condition, almost brandnew, clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Although they seemed not to be informed about our reservation the car was available within 30 minutes. Looks like a lack in Hertz's internal communication.

The office is located in terminal 1 arrival. however, if you are coming from out of the airport, it is bit difficult to access the office. it is basically not allowed to walk in the arrival without flight ticket. The car is parked in the terminal 2 taxi parking area, therefore, the office driver druve you to terminal 2, which was very incovenient. when im returning the car, there is no one waiting at the parking in terminal 2. so, i needed to call to the office in terminal 1. spent more than a hour to return the car.

This was an old car with over 55.000kms on the clock. It has scratches all over it and horrible seat covers inside. There was also two mismatching mirrors on the car. One black and one red. This car was totally unacceptable and I will not hire from National again. I thought they are a global brand with quality cars but this was unacceptable especially given the price. This was over double what I paid in UK and I had a much better car. I would normally be asking for a refund or compensation but due to my current schedule have not been able to. Also the location of the car once you have been to the office in really in a very strange place which felt unsafe. On return it was difficult to find and nonone was even waiting. Its literally a car park with no office ! Terrible. I had to make two international phone calls then after 30 minutes someone finally turned up and had the rudeness to mention I had disturbed his lunch !

The car condition wasn't great. Tire pressure was low, so we had to stop at a gas station for air, and we experienced a battery discharge as we left the headlights on for about 5 minutes while the tires were being inflated. This had us request the assistance of a technician. Even though, the Budget staff was very quick in answering our call for assistance and guided us remotely.

Firstly, I scheduled a pickup at 6 AM but the staff didn't arrive until 8:30 AM, so I waited for 3 hours at the pickup location! Secondly, the system showed the drop-off point at Manila Airport Terminal 2, but it was actually at Terminal 1, causing us to circle around for nearly 2 hours. Hertz's phone line was unreachable, and no one answered from the rental company's customer service. Thirdly, when returning the car, the staff demanded extra fees for various reasons including parking fee, staff dinner fee, tips, etc., and tried to withhold the rental deposit.

The company's counter is at the left side of the airport exit, next to the SIM card counter. We were supposed to arrive at 9 AM, but we got there at 8 AM and the staff arrived immediately after we called, without charging us for the early pickup. During the inspection, we didn’t notice that the left side mirror was broken, but after calling the staff, they said it was fine. They charged us an extra 500 PHP for dropping the car off at the hotel, which was done efficiently. Good service, no pushy extra insurance sales.

The staff of Europcar was very kind. I caused a traffic accident. Great accident. The car broke completely. I also got hurt. The staff kindly attended to everything, such as accompanying my hospital, responding to the hotel I was staying with, and helping to book tickets for airplanes at a later date. It is a wonderful staff. I am grateful.
