Avoid Thrifty

Affordable prices, but being a smaller rental company, there are many considerations and concerns. The rental process is a bit lengthy.

It took an awfully long time to be served. It would be good if people with an existing booking had their own line/dedicated staff rather than having to wait behind people who were making new bookings. Not sure that white is the most intelligent/practical interior colour choice for a rental vehicle.

No problems at all.

The counter staff on check in at the site were busy joking and talking amongst themselves all the time. The man just asked me to punch the accept buttons on the check in screen, without explaining anything. Only later I found out that he had included many extras which I did not need, and cost me another 400 dollars extra. No explanation, nothing!! Never with Thrifty again

You have to instruct the staff of the rental car agencies not to fool the passengers, who are anyway exhausted after a long flight. They incorporate a lot of extras without informing the clients.

I specifically ordered a non-smoking car, I would have ordered nothing else. But when I got the car, it was overwhelmingly obvious that smokers had used it. The smell of stale smoke was virtually everywhere throughout the car. When I pay for something I expect to get what I pay for. I'll never use Thrifty, or easy renters for that matter, again.

When I arrived at the counter, with a reservation, they told me they didn't have any cars. No explanation and no other options. Because I asked around at other counters, a manager overheard me and was able to get me a car but the staff at the counter were terrible and dismissive. It took me well over an hour to get a car.
