Different car but better than the one booked

I rented a 7 seat van and was forced to use a 5 seat car. I was told it would be exchanged at my first hotel in London within 48 hours and it never happened. We had to continue our trip from England into France in the smaller vehicle. We also had to pay an additional $60 euros for the channel crossing due to a late booking. The car also had a stinky odder and we had to purchase a plugin air freshener. We did not smell it when getting in because the windows were all cracked and it was raining. The staff was nice but never solved the problem.
