I've rented cars many times, always from the same gentleman. He's very nice.

I saw online that the model I wanted was only available with a manual transmission, but in fact, they reserved an automatic for me (the counter staff didn't mention this). The counter staff said I could switch to an automatic for an additional charge and tried to sell me insurance. The insurance coverage was ridiculous – it was meant to cover the gearshift of manual cars, and they claimed I would have to pay over 5,000 euros if it broke!

When picking up the car, there was an unexpected high-priced fuel fee, but showing the fuel receipt upon return waived the fee. Since I picked up the car early, there was no queue; when dropping off, it was also early but quite crowded... The car's condition was okay, but if you're traveling to Germany, it's better to choose a European car since Japanese cars' brakes are not as responsive.
