“Thrifty charged more than 2X cost quoted by you. I’ve reached out with the Thrifty receipt no reply”
About Thrifty:9.3/10
She told me to pick any car in the row and mentioned a Nissan. That’s what I took. A bit more clarity needs to be involved if I am going to be upcharged by simply getting into wrong car in the row.
Initial quote by TRIP = $66.46
Secondary quote by Thrifty = ~$135
Secondary quote by Thrifty = $89.52
Even I was not satisfied with the additional charges, I accepted the fee for the urgency of the trip I had scheduled.
What is the procedure in this case?
At the store, they directly asked us to pay to upgrade to a larger model, claiming the space was small. However, we insisted on seeing the car first. In the end, the model we rented had plenty of space for our luggage.
“From San Diego to Los Angeles Airport, rushing to catch a flight”
About Thrifty:4.0/10
The credit card didn't go through the first time. They reluctantly tried again, but still, it didn't go through. They insisted it was the credit card company's issue. After calling the credit card company, there were no issues on their end. Finally, after insisting, they switched to another counter, and it worked without problems.
Avoid them! Way to pushy trying to get you to purchase add-on's and she even tried to get me to take a bigger car. There was only me, so why on earth she thought I'd need a bigger one was beyond me.
“The check engine light came on during normal use, and we had to switch cars on the night of June 25t”
About Thrifty:6.0/10
The check engine light came on during normal use, and we had to switch cars on the night of June 25th. This severely affected our trip, and we were very dissatisfied. Additionally, when documenting the car's condition, it was recorded with less than a quarter tank of gas. We inquired about the fuel charges, but the inspector did not inform us about the costs, otherwise we would have refueled immediately. Therefore, I am filing a complaint regarding the additional $69 charge.
In addition to credit and debit cards, you can now pay for online car rentals with cryptocurrency! Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) are accepted. Curious about how long a Bitcoin transaction takes or how to pay with Bitcoin? Read our FAQs for more details.
