We were required to buy full insurance, otherwise we couldn't pick up the car. We had already informed them that we had bought insurance through the rental platform, but the staff insisted that we couldn't get the car without purchasing their insurance. We immediately called the rental platform's customer service to explain the situation. The customer service requested to speak with the rental company staff, but the staff refused to take the call, stating that the contract was between the rental company and us, unrelated to any third party. We could cancel the order if we wished. Fortunately, the rental platform's customer service was able to cancel our original super full insurance purchase and the refund was processed on the next business day.
It was Sunday the day we picked up the car. The rental company had many counters, but only 2 employees were working. When we arrived, there were 4 or 5 groups of customers waiting. From arrival to departure, it took about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
the car had a technical problem of missing oil!!!!
that couldn't happened if they checked the car properly before giving it to the customer
As a fact, the car stopped the engine in the middle of the highway and I wasted my time to bring the car to their station for changing the car
Don't buy full insurance, it's a scam. Even if you purchase it, the local rental company won't recognize it and you'll need a deposit of over 4,000 euros. Who has such a high credit limit? Coincidentally, my credit limit is quite high, but I couldn't use that card. Essentially, they force you to buy full insurance from the local office. In the end, I had to buy it again, which was a huge rip-off.
“Really bad pick up process and terms. Car itself was good.”
About KLASS WAGEN:8.0/10
Car met expectations. Pick up process was bad, instructions for van were horrific and I could've gone directly to the garage if I had the address since I was in lisbon already. Pick up terms designed to scare customer into purchasing insurance also got under my skin, literally said any small scratch would be at least 430 euros which is absurd. Drop off process was normal.
