The service attitude was terrible. Since we didn't purchase insurance at the store (we had already bought full insurance through the rental platform), the staff kept complaining about us and tried to force us to buy insurance, delaying the pickup process. It took about 30 minutes to complete the pickup. The same staff handled the car return and was also very aggressive towards us. The whole trip was ruined because of this awful car rental experience.
Great service with shuttle bus transportation, and the rental price is reasonable.
The car was in excellent condition and very new. We got a mid-to-large SUV, 91-octane fuel, with only about 16,000 km on the odometer. The car was great and easy to drive!
When renting a car abroad, it's better to buy insurance from the local rental company, as they do not recognize insurance from home country due to the complicated claim process and inability to provide advance payment. The local rental company's insurance costs over 200 AUD. If the car is returned without major issues, you can leave directly, otherwise, you might be required to pay a deposit of several thousand dollars.
The counter staff was adamant that my AXA insurance was inadequate and I wouldn't be covered for any excess in case of a claim, was coerced into paying a higher pick up premium before we could leave
About QEEQ:10.0/10
The online booing platform was great yet I didn't receive the price drop guarantee offer
“Very disappointed, let down by what was supposed to be a good deal .”
About East Coast Car Rentals:5.0/10
Price that QEEQ quoted didn’t happen, had to pay 658 Australian Dollars, After signing paperwork I was informed of over 30 scratches and damage to the car. Also included in the price was car insurance, despite me stating I had car insurance.
Felt like they tricked me, could have increased damage marks on my return of the car.
Seemed a bit of a scam company.
The car we got was larger than we booked. I am not used to driving a large car, so it was stressful on the first day.
They tried to sell another insurance e, even though I got one from the easy car rentals.
“opted for full cover at booking and yet were asked to pay $76.xx on pickup unless 'freeze' $1000 on”
About East Coast Car Rentals:8.0/10
Everything else was good including the vehicle condition.
