The car pickup process took quite a long time, and the procedure to change cars during the trip was cumbersome and inefficient, which forced us to alter our itinerary. However, the return process was quick and simple, although the shuttle intervals were somewhat long.
If you don't want to queue or deal with the counter staff and avoid insurance offers, Alamo has a row of self-service machines in the rental lobby. Simply input your reservation number, driver's license number, swipe your credit card for the deposit, select 'no' for the other options, and the rental document will be printed out.
It's my second time renting from Alamo. I just asked if I needed a GPS, signed the contract, and picked up the car.
