Not easy to contact customer service in airport for any reason

We are very sorry to learn you had unhappy experience. Upon checking, the extra charge is for additional insurance. The signed rental agreement and final invoice have been forwarded to you. Since the package you chose didn't include Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Waiver, you would need to present your own insurance or purchase at the counter. Thank you for your understanding.

“Could have been better”

Not a pleasant experience. I was sold insurance on the spot and it was very expensive in California. I had not appreciated just how bad/serious it was to book a car with no insurance. As an international traveler it was even more stressful to find an additional $400 on the spot!!

Easy to use, however implications of not having insurance should be highlighted more to avoid shock and disappointment at the counter….

30min wait for shuttle, they bullied me to buy more insurance and then they refused to rent to us because my licensed was Australian and passport was US...despite showing them my Australian residency visa...never had problem with any other agencies.
