I reserved a Sienna from the AVIS Detroit airport location, but upon arrival, they gave me a Dodge Caravan with 70,000 miles on it. Then, after driving the Caravan for two hours, the engine light came on indicating a fault. Feeling really concerned, I drove to the AVIS location at Toledo Airport with the warning light on to exchange the car, and they ended up giving me a Toyota 4Runner. Overall: Poor experience, low-quality vehicles provided! It wasted my travel time and ruined my travel experience.
The waiting time in line was very long, and no one cared to assist. The Alamo car rental at Detroit is the worst I have ever encountered. I don't know how their other locations are, but I will never rent from them again. Regarding the vehicle type, the staff said we get whatever car is available. If there are no cars, just keep waiting. The car we got was extremely dirty, and the staff said it couldn't be cleaned. Overall, terrible experience!!!!!!
I booked a Ford Focus, but it wasn't available, so they gave me a small car, a Kia, instead. I prepaid for 35 days, returned the car two days early, but they didn't refund the money for those two days. Poor service.
The car rental industry in the US is very well-regulated, the service is super nice, and they place a lot of trust in people. When returning the car, they don't even check it—just leave the keys and go.
Avis were great except for the initial pickup. There was a long wait for the shuttle bus and the counter was very busy and very slow - under manned? However, no hard sell of extras, just took the card deposit and handed over the keys.
The service is very thoughtful and user-friendly. The staff are enthusiastic, professional, and efficient. The vehicle is clean and hygienic, offering an excellent driving experience!
It was the first time I encountered a downgraded car model. Initially, I was going to give a negative review, but later an accident occurred. The handling of the accident was satisfactory, so I decided to give a positive review.
There are too few vehicle options and long queues. The first time, there were no cars of the same class available, so I was upgraded to a much larger car, which was difficult to drive. The second time, the car I got had a flat tire, and I had to go back to exchange it. The third time, I was given a Mitsubishi.
