“Easy booking; Good value for money; not the friendliest staff.”
About Easirent:8.3/10
I. Not advertised in their arrival information, be aware that the Pickup point was at local hotel 400 yards walk from Airport Arrivals and no respite from the weather.
2. Not all the minor damage to the car was indicated on the vehicle hire sheet. When I returned the vehicle they were certain that there was extra minor damage to a wheel trim. However when I asked to check their past computer records, it was found that this damage had already been reported.
“Duped into paying £180 for insurance that i did not ask for. I will never use this company again.”
About Easirent:6.3/10
I was asked if I wanted insurance which I clearly declined. After some confusing conversation I was then charged £180 for something I did not want and when I asked for my money back the staff member refused to reimburse me. To make matters worse he then said he can prove I agreed with video footage which I was more then happy to review and to my "surprise" he wasn't able to show me. I will never make a mistake by using a cheap car rental company again. Very Very poor.
The only saving grace was the staff member on my return was very good and helpful. what a great guy he was.
The pick-up point was at the far end of the car park which would have been a fag had I had more luggage. The staff were cheerful and friendly and Tony did his job very well.
About QEEQ:10.0/10
No problems, although I think the extras on insurance should have been clearer at the time of booking.
For the first rental, we initially chose an Audi A4 estate, but were informed it was unavailable and only a Kia was left. They persuaded us to pay an extra £350 for an upgrade. The second rental experience was even worse. Despite already purchasing full insurance, they added an extra charge of £88 for insurance. When we arrived to return the car at the agreed time, the store was already closed. We didn't receive a detailed bill upon return, and after returning to our country, we found an additional charge of over £200 without any explanation. Our complaint remains unresolved to this day.
DO NOT HIRE ANY CAR FROM EASIRENT
I had a terrible e experience, with them starting by making me wait 40 minutes for the shuttle bus, or I could "get a taxi". Then they tried to say I was out of hours and wanted to charge me £60 extra on top of my hire, then wanted £1500+£100 deposit for a car with half full tank etc. I ended up walking out with no car, and a family looking to get a taxi in an industrial estate outside of town, which cost me £50. So no hire car and more outlay...even the taxi driver said he regularly has to pick people up there...so I cant have been an isolated cash. Stick to the mainstream companies...pay the little extra...because these guys will try their best to take more.ml eyes off you.
“Happy, if overly fragrant driving through the Cotswolds.”
About Europcar:8.0/10
The counter staff at pickup were very helpful. The delay in completing paperwork etc was due to an internet outage for the whole south-east due to Storm Ashley.
No staff to receive car at Gatwick North terminal, but just parked and left key in the box.
“A great experience and a super way to kick start a holiday.”

I got an even better car than I expected.

The extra protection insurance was not offered when I paid for the car so I took basic protection and on pick up, I paid extra, which should have been offered on the time booking.
The staff's attitude was okay. I chose an MG ZS SUV, but the staff tried to upsell me to a Hyundai Tucson for an extra £10 per day. I thought £10 wasn't much, so I agreed. The deposit was £200, totaling £240. I used my Monzo card and rented the car for four days. I chose to return the car before 6 PM. The return parking spot was the same as the pickup location. When I returned the car, there were no staff around, so I took photos, placed the key in the designated drop box, and recorded a video. I also kept the rental contract. I had read bad reviews about this rental company, so I made sure to keep evidence. It turned out to be necessary. The rental company charged an additional £200 from my card. I emailed them, and they said I returned the car a day late. I sent them my photos and contract to prove I returned it on time, and they admitted it was a mistake in their system. They refunded the money. It was quite funny. Without the photos, the deposit and extra charge might have been lost. Always remember to take photos as evidence. The customer service of the rental company was responsive, which deserves some praise.
