The car was too old and shook when starting, making it a nerve-wracking drive! I originally planned to return it on the 22nd but ended up returning it on the night of the 21st. This was the first time I've encountered such poor vehicle condition with this company.

Counter staff at pick up very pushy trying to get us to upgrade. Said he wasn't happy with our choice of car for safety reasons!! Only driving from SD to LA! He said it had no luggage space, no cruise control and no Bluetooth connectivity. It had all 3! Would put me off using Alamo in the future.

Merchant actually processed the payment in USD, and caused me to be charged a conversion fee
Counter staff added extra options to my booking without my approval. Good thing I picked up on the extra charges and told him to remove it. While it's to Alamo's interest to get customers to buy more options/extras, it's ethically wrong to sneakily add the options to the reservation without consent.

The car wasn't new, it had already covered 80,000 kilometers, which is quite a difference compared to the almost brand-new car I got from Avis last time. The brakes weren't very good and vibrated upon pressing, but it managed the whole trip without major issues. The tire pressure warning came on midway, and I had to find a repair shop to inflate the tires. Picking up the car took a long time mainly due to default recommendations for additional insurance and fuel services, which wasn't ideal. Additionally, the company used pictures of the Grand Cherokee to attract customers, but they actually offered much smaller SUVs. There was a smaller Cherokee, but it was too small so I opted for a Japanese car.

Like: I had booked a mid size but they were out of stock when we arrived. So we were upgraded to a full size and we chose a Hybrid with a sun roof. After 3 days it only took $8 worth of gas. :)
