Hertz did not have a counter. I had to ask someone at the AVIS counter, who then contacted Hertz to handle the paperwork. This is inconsistent with the booking page, which indicated there would be a counter.
The office opens at 8:00 AM. They don't support UnionPay cards, only VISA and MasterCard. I booked for four days and paid in advance on QEEQ. When I arrived in Krabi, they required an additional 30,000 THB pre-authorization as a deposit. I reserved a Toyota compact car. The pickup process was simple, and minor scratches were not a concern according to the staff. Before returning the car, I called HERZ five minutes in advance and drove directly to Krabi Airport T2. They canceled the pre-authorization immediately.
