Big car rental companies are still the best. When I rented in New Zealand, it was a small company. The car had only 4000 kilometers but was already full of dents and wasn't very clean inside. In the future, I'll stick with big companies.
Realized 30 minutes after returning the car that I left my headphones inside. Tried to contact Hertz but couldn't reach them, and couldn't recover the headphones. It's only been half an hour; I wonder if a staff member took them. This is incredibly disappointing, a terrible experience.
There might have been communication issues between the rental car platform and HERTZ. At the store, the staff kept pushing additional insurance on me, even though I had already paid for full insurance online. The HERTZ staff just kept shaking their head, saying they couldn't see it. Since I was in a hurry, I didn't argue and ended up buying extra insurance. So, don't just focus on so-called big brand stores and their so-called low prices. Always clarify everything, or you might waste money.
