Reminder: your credit card needs to have international payment enabled; it's good to have a backup card. Driving on the left in Australia is easy to adapt to, especially since the driver sits on the right. Also, remember that besides using GPS, you can't play with your phone in the car, or you might get fined several hundred AUD if caught.
The entire process was very smooth. The car was new and clean, and returning it was extremely convenient, located right by the parking building next to the airport. Since it was fully insured, I simply left the car and walked away without any complicated procedures. After returning, there were no surprise charges like traffic violations.
The initial car provided had scratches on the left side, which were not mentioned in the order. To avoid disputes, I went back to the rental company the next day to exchange for another car, which delayed my trip a bit.
