They require a credit card deposit of 9000, which is absolutely unreasonable. Plus, it takes 30 days after returning the car to get the deposit back. Unbelievable!

They used something similar to domestic ETC, and charged me 993 THB for a toll fee of 30 THB. This is simply outrageous and they were very rude. Communication was futile. Additionally, I booked an Innova, but when I arrived to pick up the car, they told me it wasn't available and gave me a Fortuner instead. Given that I was abroad, I didn't have time to argue with them and it disrupted my itinerary. It was a disappointing experience.

I ordered on the 8th and expected the car delivery at 21:00 on the 9th. Before placing the order, I called and specified door-to-door delivery. The customer service asked me to place the order online, so I paid the full amount of 514 RMB. I confirmed the delivery address twice while ordering. On the 9th, I landed and waited at the hotel until 21:00 without any contact. Then I called customer service, and they informed me:

“Europcar is the worst car rental company in Thailand”

The car broke down in the middle of the journey. The numbers given on the envelope and the rental agreement weren't working. After calling emergency number, the insurance company asked for some insurance contract number which wasn't provided. We were left in the middle of nowhere without any help. After trying hundreds of times, was able to reach a number of Europcar who took her own sweet time and sent a mechanic after two hours. By that time, we were able to locate a guy on our own and paid 500 THB from our pocket. Despite the whole incident and reporting this at front desk after dropping off keys and at the customer service number, nobody has still called. Most apathetic customer services out there definitely. Highly recommend not to take chances with Europcar.

You could return the deposit (excess) quicker than one month. I pre-paid $200 (car and insurance) then you took another $400 off me ... which I was told will take a month to get back to me. This is unacceptable - you are fast to take and slow to return. Just not good enough, Europcar and Easyrentcars.
