From Los Angeles to Las Vegas to Salt Lake City, then to Yellowstone Park, and back the same way

It took 3 hours to pick up the car in LA. Not only did I not get the car I booked—because they didn't know when it would be returned—but after switching cars, I waited another 40 minutes in the parking lot because the car hadn't been washed and needed to wait in line. The chaotic process made me question if AVIS is really a public company.

The distance from Los Angeles airport to the rental company is not far, but the line was too long and there were too few staff. We spent two hours just waiting in line. After getting the car, it had issues, and we had to return it to get a replacement. Altogether, it took three hours. It was exhausting and caused us to find accommodation only in the early morning!

Overall collection service very poor. Wait at airport for transport = 15 minutes. Wait at counter for car = 60 minutes. Car allocated had only small amount of gas - wait to exit LAX rental area = 30 minutes. Overall over 2 hours to collect car
