“Horrendous Experience with Enterprise”
About Enterprise: 2.0 /10
We had a nightmare experience that is still ongoing - it totally ruined our vacation. We twice had to change cars due to 1 faulty car and 1 Mitsubishi recall - costing us two days of vacation circling back to Germany to change. Then after the second vehicle switch, we were charged 950 Euros (the full deposit) without explanation (bar one email to us addressed to a wrong email address). After many phone calls, being on hold for long periods and promises of calls back from Enterprise, we discovered that Enterprise at Nuremburg Airport (where we changed the second car) had 'discovered' damage after we returned the vehicle. Originally when we arrived they had thoroughly checked the car and exchanged telling us everything was OK, there was no damage. They just charged us without a discussion. Now they told us to email our complaint and we have had no response since we contacted them on 11th July. We feel scammed.

About Enterprise: 8.0 /10
Pros: When picking up the car, I was informed that the original model was not available, so they upgraded me to a Volvo XC60. The car was more premium (though it did consume more fuel). The vehicle was also fairly new, with less than 10,000 km on it. Cons: The car was given to me with half a tank of fuel instead of a full tank. I ended up refilling it significantly when returning the car...

Very dissatisfied: 1) The store selected for car rental was Kiel downtown, the address shown was Dusternbrooker Weg, and there was no specific building number. According to the map, there was no store at this location. 2) Based on the store's name Ostseekai, we went to Ostseekai, but there was no one there. Called customer service and they said Ostseekai is only for people coming off the cruise, and there is usually no one there. However, I did not receive any such reminder when making the reservation. 3) The main store in Kiel sent someone to pick me up, and I successfully rented the car, but the car given to me was a two-door, while my order clearly stated I wanted a four-door. The store staff just said: all our cars have been rented out. Next time I will choose Enterprise. If the car I want is not available, they'll give you an upgrade rather than a downgrade.

The service attitude was good, and they didn't push us to buy insurance. Initially, they gave us a diesel car, but we requested a petrol one, and they changed it after letting us inspect it. When returning the car, the on-site inspector insisted that the fuel tank wasn't full, but the issue was quickly resolved after we spoke to the staff at the office. Overall, the service attitude was quite good.
