Overall experience was a net positive. I booked a Volkswagen Jetta or similar and received a red Dodge Hornet, which is a small SUV. Wish rental car colours didn't stick out like a sore thumb. Felt uneasy with drop-off as no one inspected the car or provided receipt of drop off. I was directed to pull up behind other rental cars and leave the keys on the dashboard. I took many pictures to ensure I have proof of drop off, including a full tank of gas. Three days later the $250 hold is still pending on my credit card.

Nightmare ish, glad I went early and had an American friend.
I went a day early to confirm location and availability, unfortunately there was drama at Avis as they couldn’t find the booking as it was via a third party and had a British Avis number. The Staff were adamant that it wasn't correct. luckily my friend (local) has an Avis account and was able to find it easily. The actual day of the hire went quite smoothly apart from my contact details wouldn’t go through, again as it was via a third party.

Disappointed, could be better
After 2 days of hiring car, “change engine oil soon” light started flashing and next day “ change of engine oil required” message started flashing, went to 3 different Avis outlets in Orlando and 1 in Fort Lauderdale, none of them had cars and didn’t helped either, was told to go to airport. Went to FLL, airport and had to change the car with robotic service, no apologies nothing at the counter. Disappointed.

It took several calls with customer service in the middle of the night from my home country, and the entire process took 3 hours. The use of the e-toll was not explained, and it was not mentioned in the contract.

The car provided was already large enough, but they recommended a more expensive one, which I wasn't very happy about. Adding an additional driver costs £14 per day. We picked up the car in London and drove to Oxford and Cambridge. The countryside roads in the UK are narrow and traffic is fast, so careful driving is necessary.
