You can arrive of Thrifty - Harry Reid International Airport car rental by free shuttle bus.

Rental Car Pick Up from Terminal 1 Arriving car rental customers will be transported to their vehicles by dedicated blue-and-white McCarran Rent-A-Car Center shuttles for the three-mile trip to the Center and the car rental company of your choice. From Baggage Claim, follow signs to Ground Transportation on Level 1. Proceed to the Rental Car Shuttle located at the center median outside doors 10 and 11. Rental Car Pick up from Terminal 3 Blue and white McCarran Rent-A-Car Center shuttle buses depart approximately every five minutes for the three-mile trip to the Center and the car rental company of your choice. Follow signs to Ground Transportation from Baggage Claim on Level Zero. Proceed to the Rental Car Shuttle located outside West doors 51-54 and East doors 55-58.

Drop-off Instructions

Upon arrival at the McCarran Rent-A-Car Center, follow the signs to the Rental Car Return entrance off of Gilespie St. Continue following the overhead signs to the appropriate car rental company. After returning your vehicle, proceed through the lobby and out the main entrance to the shuttles. Blue and white McCarran Rent-A-Car Center shuttle buses depart to the airport approximately every five minutes. Board the appropriate shuttle to Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 for your departing flight.

A vehicle can be driven across the Canadian border at any time, no matter what location it was rented from. It is recommended to have PERS coverage when using vehicle in cross border rentals for the US and Canada. The renter must have a valid driver's license and rental record to cross the border into Canada. Canadian law does require that everyone entering the country have a passport, so everyone in the vehicle must have the proper identification. If a renter (including a Canadian resident) is driving a U.S. rented (and licensed in the U.S.) vehicle to Canada, it can only be driven across the border for up to 30 days unless an extension is requested from Customs at the time of entry.

    They charged an extra $68. Although we had no issue communicating in English, we still got scammed out of more than $60. The insurance and fuel charges were totally unfair! Be cautious! The so-called basic insurance they offer is their own, I thought it was from the rental platform. Also, regardless of how much fuel you return, they charge a $40 fuel fee, even though filling up the tank didn't cost us $40. It's really unfair. The only advantage is the car was decent, but any company should have good cars.

    When picking up the car, the salesperson insisted I buy insurance. I told them I had already purchased it on Zuzuche, but they said it wasn't comprehensive enough and pressured me to buy more. I didn't, and the salesperson was unhappy. Additionally, no return map was provided, and the Las Vegas rental location is quite a distance from the airport, making the return inconvenient. I used Google to find a return location, but ended up going to the wrong place, which cost me 20 minutes. Aside from these issues, the experience was quite good—very convenient, with a high degree of freedom in choosing cars, and quick return procedures!

    This rental company enforces third-party liability insurance, so you still need to opt for it when renting. The listed prices on the website are misleading. If you're adding $18 a day at the location, you might as well book directly from Sixt, which doesn't generally force you to buy. The car is fine.

    Let me tell you about my unpleasant experience. The staff at this rental car company are extremely dishonest. The original order did not include an additional driver. He asked if I wanted to add one. I asked about the cost, he said it was free. I didn't believe him and confirmed again; he still said it was free and acted surprised, asking why I would want to pay. Later, he aggressively pushed various insurances, most of which I refused. However, for safety, I added the million-dollar third-party insurance. When printing the contract, I found that the child seat I had requested when booking was not canceled (we brought our own), and it was charged. It got canceled only after I requested it. The list did not show the cost of an additional driver. In the end, I was still careless. When settling the return, the fee of $13.3 per day for the extra driver was listed. Isn’t this fraud? The staff had a terrible attitude during the on-site communication about the fee, and the store manager acted like a scheming rogue, essentially saying that if you added it, you have to pay for it. Really disgusting! I suggest not choosing this store. If you have to, make sure to record the entire process of picking up and returning the car.

The bus was dirty, and the staff especially asked Chinese people for the return receipt, which felt racist and discriminatory. Although the price is competitive, I have to say that the overall experience with Thrifty is very poor.

    After returning the car, we rented another one and wasted several hours at LA Thrifty fighting for our rights. I urge all Chinese people not to rent from this company. They unjustifiably refuse to accept Chinese driving licenses and their service attitude is terrible. Many Chinese people have been denied rentals, disrupting their travel plans.     Returning the car and everything else was fine. The agent at the counter seemed very nice, but they added a lot of extras without being clear about it. My original order only included basic coverage and additional third-party insurance, nothing else. At the counter, the agent added options like no need to return with a full tank and roadside assistance. For example, with roadside assistance, they just said, 'You don't need to worry, if you have any issues, just call us,' without mentioning the extra cost of the insurance. I didn't notice at first and only discovered there was an extra $300 charge when I was about to pick up the car. I immediately went back and requested all the extras be canceled, insisting on just the prepaid items on my original order. Most front desk agents are like this, including at Hertz. Stay vigilant, or you’ll definitely get scammed.

    1. When picking up the car, they added multiple insurance options without asking, almost doubling the rental fee. After I noticed, the staff member who processed it had already left, and other staff refused to change it, asking us to wait for half an hour until that person was back. 2. I booked a Corolla, but there was no car available when I picked up, so they randomly gave me a Hyundai hatchback, which was too small to fit all our luggage. I objected on the spot, and the staff said if I didn't want it, I’d have to wait over 45 minutes. In the end, I had to downgrade to a Nissan Sunny. It's always been an upgrade with other rentals, but this was the first time I got downgraded and threatened to wait if I didn't accept. 3. The car was also very old; the Sunny had already done 25000 miles, the highest mileage I've encountered in a rental.

    There's a shuttle bus outside the airport terminal that goes directly to the car rental building. I arrived at 9 PM, and it wasn't crowded. I was the second in line. Since I had already selected my car and insurance through QEEQ, I quickly completed the paperwork after they checked my passport and driver's license.
