The pickup location is outside the airport. The Romanian girl handling the paperwork was extremely gentle, trying to sell you insurance worth 100 euros, even if you explained repeatedly that you already purchased full insurance through the rental company. She would scoff and almost snort at you, insisting it was useless. Finally, seeing that selling the insurance wasn't an option, she immediately froze 2200 euros on your card—not a small amount! So, a few tips for renting a car here: 1. Definitely have a high-limit credit card, with at least a 5,000-euro limit. 2. Be super nice and smile constantly while listening to the girl explain the importance of insurance. When she's exhausted from explaining, smile and say no. 3. Have excellent driving skills like mine, otherwise, the girl will use a magnifying glass to find even the tiniest scratch and charge you for it.
Wonderful experience, been picked up from the Arrivals terminal, very short drive to the car rental compound, a thorough check of the car by the staff. The car was almost new (less than 10,000 km), smooth drive, integrated GPS, nice audio system, excellent aircon!
No fuss return process followed by dropping to the airport, would highly recommend!
There was an issue with the car during the trip. As we didn't have a phone to contact Klass Wagen, the police stopped and helped us out as the car wouldn't start. They used their police car to charge our battery on the side of the motorway, it took an hour but then all was good. Afterwards everything was fine for the rest of the trip.
