For international flights: You will find the counter just beyond the baggage claim exit. There, a staff member will be waiting to direct you to the shuttle.

After passing through Immigration, turn right and look for rental company area (within walking distance from airport building). The vehicle must be left in the "Vans, Shuttle Bus and Rent-A-Car" parking lot, which is approximately 150 meters from the terminal. Airline Passengers: Location is 10 meters in front of international arrival. Local customers: Location is 15 meters in front of national arrivals. The location is approximately 37 kms north of the city of Quito.

Forced to buy expensive insurance, otherwise they wouldn't rent the car.

Normaly you ecxpect that a rentacar is in perfect mecanical conditions. So you dont check if there is water in the cooling system neither you check the tyres if they are still in good condition. I got a car with totally slick tires. That is absolutly criminal as beeing very dangerous. At the end of the rent they tried to deduct of my card some US$ 550 for the fixing for the poor exterior condition of the car. I protested. Europcar Ecuador is not a very serious partner for you in Ecuador. Must admit I had similar problem in Ecuador with Budget. Seems ecuadorian renters are not very serious.

The rental company's representative aggressively pushed local insurance for $60 and threatened to cancel my order if I didn't purchase it. Even the customer service call from the rental platform wasn't answered. Terrible experience with the rental company. Thankfully, the rental platform covered this forced insurance for me. Very satisfied with the platform's service and serious attitude.

When using a credit card for authorization, they didn't use a POS machine and insisted on the three-digit security code on the back of the card. Otherwise, they wouldn't let me pick up the car. This is the first time I've encountered such a thing after renting cars for so long! Couldn't contact the rental company! Had no choice but to give them the security code.
